Cricut Hanging Butterflies for Decorations

I have some cute butterflies for you today! Let’s make some hanging decorations for spring, using my butterfly SVG! These hanging butterflies are great for decorating your kids parties or hanging in a baby nursery.  I designed this paper butterfly with a hole at the top so you can pull a string through, perfect for creating ceiling hangers or banners.

Supply List:

• Cricut Machine
• Hanging Butterfly SVG
• Cardstock
• Bearly Art Craft Glue
• Fishing Wire Clear
• Scoring Stylus

My Cricut paper butterfly SVG is sized at 4 inches in width, but can be resized in Design Space to your preference.  The SVG will come with 2 butterflies which makes one hanging butterfly.  You can duplicate the set to cut up to 6 to a page.

When you upload the SVG to Design Space, make sure to check the size or resize if needed. Change each cut lines to score lines and attach it to the butterfly shape underneath. Cut on Cardstock+ for 65lb cardstock.

Next, fold over the score lines using a straight edge.

 

Use the craft glue to stick the butterfly body together matching it up.

 

Cut a piece of fishing wire through the whole and tie a double knot.  Make sure the knot is tied at the top of the butterfly head for balance.

 

Now you’re ready to hang your easy-but-beautiful paper butterfly decorations!  Create more with different colored cardstocks, foil cardstock or glitter cardstock.
