Hello, Crafters! I have a super easy mini-tutorial on how to make my gorgeous Mermaid Tail hair bows! I’m going to show you how to make this using the printable PDF bow template.
You can make these out of a number of materials or fabric: faux leather, glitter canvas, leather canvas, felt, foam paper sheets etc. Find amazing mermaid material on Amazon, Check out these cute printed mermaid scale canvas material. For the material I used for my Mermaid Tail Bow is Snake Skin Holographic Leather Fabric.
Whatever material you choose I’m sure it will look awesome. You can also choose to make these on your cutting machine by using my mermaid tail SVG file. For help with bow making with a Cricut click HERE.
Here is a list of supplies you will need:
- My Mermaid Tail Bow Template (end of post)
- printer
- scissors
- material of your choice
- pen
- glue gun
- metal hair clip

Mermaid Tail Bow Template Tutorial
First download my Mermaid Tail bow file, and unzip folder. Extract the all files and save to the same location. Open and print the PDF file.
Once you have the template printed out, cut each piece out along the black line.
Next lay your material face down, take your template pieces and lay them over the back of your material. Then trace with your pen around the template.
Remove template and cut your material pieces out. Watch my video below to see how I assemble this mermaid tail hair bow!

I can’t get the template to download so I can print. Can you please help me.

This is beautiful. My best friend daughter is in to mermaids and I want to make this for her upcoming birthday. I have a Cricut machine do you think I would be able to cut it with it?thank you!
