Hello Crafters, today I have a lovely DIY Pet Memorial Project for you! Whether you lost your dog or cat (or anything with a paw), this SVG is a perfect way for your family to remember your pet. I was inspired to make this from my first Angel Wings Memorial SVG, and I hope you guys love this one!
Here are a few supplies you will need:
- Cricut Explore Air 2
- 9×9 Shadow Box
- Recollection cardstock
- 651 Vinyl (black)
- Picture of beloved pet
- Pet Angel Wings SVG
- foam tape
- scissors
- printer
Below is a list of how many 8.5×11 cardstock sheets I used. I also used black permanent vinyl for the text.
Upload the Pet Angel Wings SVG to Design Space. It should be sized to an 8 inch width, if it’s not that size you will have to resize it. Next upload a picture of your beloved pet and size it down to fit within the bottom shape of the paw. Ungroup the SVG and select the bottom paw shape, move it to the front, then select the picture and bottom paw shape and click Slice, then delete the left over scraps. The picture will use the print and cut feature, make sure to turn on bleed and use System Dialog feature. Set your print quality to high.
Next add your pet’s name and size it down to fit with the banner. I also changed the font to bold. Then click on the Curve tool and slide it to the right until it curves with the banner, then click Attach. Also Attach the “In Loving Memory of” group and “Forever in my Heart” group so it will cut together.
You can change the wings and heart colors to anything you like, once you have it the way you like it you can click MAKE IT. Cut all the cardstock on CARDSTOCK +, and the black vinyl on VINYL+.
The half heart wings is 5 layers, I provided a picture below for reference to the order you stack them.
Here are all the layers cut out and weeded. Next we are going to assemble.
Cut thin strips of foam tape and place it on the back of the detailed wings. Then stack on top of each other.
Next, assemble the banner, which is 3 layers. Use transfer tape to apply the name to the white banner and then place the outline of the banner over it with foam tape.
Now we can attach the wings to the big heart with foam tape (line it up to the left side of the heart). Then, take the bottom paw print shape place it on the top right side of the heart. Use foam tape as well to attach the pet’s picture and remaining paw shapes to the bottom base of the paw.
Then, use transfer tape to apply the “Forever in my Heart” decal to the bottom right of the heart.
Now tape your 9×9 shadow box and place the heart and banner like so using foam tape or a hot glue gun. Make sure to leave a half of an inch at the top for the “In loving memory of” decal, which you apply to the glass after you place the backing back into the frame.
Here it is!! I hope you love the finish product and try out this project today!

Darn! This SVG is no longer Free! You can find it in my Shop!

Thank You so Much for taking the time to make something for me to celebrate my best pal “Max” which I lost in the recent past.
Thank You so much! You helped me out alot with this project, I recently had to accept the loss of my buddy Max of 15 yrs. He was so special and really loved me, protected me, felt my pain when I was ill, he stayed right with me through all of life’s up and downs.
For that I’m greatful!
