Cricut Wedding Cake Gift Card Holder with Debossing

 

Welcome back Crafters, I have a beautiful new project today!! We are going to make a wedding cake gift card holder with a Cricut Explore Air 2.  I want to show you how I used my scoring stylus to create a deboss effect on my cake tiers.

I was inspired to make this for my friends bridal shower last month, and I’m so happy how it turned out!! Now I get to share this file with all you!  This cake gift card holder will work great for weddings, bridal showers, quinceañeras, baby showers or even a fabulous birthday party!

I can’t wait to see all of your creative takes on this gift card holder! There are literally tons of different ways you can make this and put your own creative twist on it.  You can use different types of color cardstock like, foil, heavy weight, and textures.  You can also switch out the cake topper with your own images.  And as for the debossing, you can also change it to the pen tool and foil tool.  I’m just so excited to see what you come up with, and I’m so glad I’m able to provide you with a easy to use SVG file to get you started!

Here are a few supplies you will need:

• Cricut Explore Air 2
• 65 lb Cardstock (110 cardstock preferred)
• Foil Vinyl (optional)
• Tape Runner Adhesive
• Printer
• Scoring Stylus
• Wedding Cake SVG
• Transfer Tape

I will show you how to use your Cricut scoring stylus to get a deep deboss on a Cricut Explore machine.  Unlike the Cricut Maker, that has a embossing option using the embossing blade, the Explore machines don’t have it, but you still can achieve a deboss look using the scoring tool.  I will be using 65lb cardstock, but if you have 110lb cardstock for the debossing surface, I recommend you use that.

Below you will find the full instructions in my video tutorial below.  I hope all get to watch, and create this beautiful gift card holder.  This wedding cake gift card holder is 4.75 in. x 6.30 in. when fully assembled.  It will fit inside any 5×7 card envelope.  And is designed for standard 2.125 x 3.37 inch gift cards.
