Hey there Crafters! It’s been awhile since I designed layered paper mandalas for my blog. I was inspired by my new puppy to design this cute Daisy Layered Mandala! Her name is Daisy (after the flower) and she is the cutest English golden retriever, cream white like a daisy!
So, to say I have been obsessed with daisies is to say the least! I needed to add a daisy to my collect of layered mandala flowers. You can create this with your Cricut cutting machine and colored cardstock! Add it to any square shadow box frame, my Daisy Mandala SVG is completely scalable.
Here is a list of materials you will need:
- Cricut Machines (Maker and Explore)
- Cardstock (8.5×11 and 12×12)
- Daisy Mandala SVG
- Craft Glue
- Foam Tape
- 9×9 Shadow Box
Upload the SVG File to Design Space
This Layered Daisy Mandala is sized for a 9×9 shadow box and the SVG file is sized to fit in spacers of 8.5×8.5 inches. Please be sure to measure your box opening, not all shadow boxes are the same dimensions. You can scale the cut file in Cricut Design Space to fit any square shadow box.
Upload the SVG file to Cricut Design Space and add it to your canvas. If you need help finding the SVG file type please read through my FAQ.
The top mandala can be cut out with 8.5×11 cardstock. The 8.5×8.5 backing will need 12×12 cardstock you can try it with regular 8.5×11 but it may come off a little short on one side.
The number of layers for my Daisy Layered Mandala is 11, 8 layers for the flower and 3 layers for the back ground. You can choose to leave out the daisy background if you wish. I personally, think it looks amazing with it! You can change it to different colors for a completely different look!
Cut Out Mandala Layers
The mandala SVG file is ready to cut, click make it and send it to the mat. I cut on cardstock + for my 65lb weight cardstock. Make sure to choose the appropriate setting if you use a specialty cardstock like glitter cardstock. Paper mandalas tend to have intricate designs, to help the detailed cuts, make sure your mat is clean of debris.
To take the delicate design of the mat, flip over the mat and bend it backwards while holding down the cardstock design flat with the other hand. This will help keep your cardstock from curling.
Assemble Layered Mandala
Once you have all the layers cut out, you can to assemble your mandala’s backing. I used foam squares to layer them together, you can also use foam tape as well. The daisy background has 3 layers with the pink layer on top, then the white layer and the orange being on the bottom.
Next, you can assemble the mandala. Use craft glue with a fine point tip to apply small dots of glue to the back of the orange daisy center. Place that directly on top of the matching solid shape.
For the daisy petals, there should be 3 layers. use foam tape on the back of the top daisy layer in the center only, the skinny petal line don’t need foam tape. Place the top daisy layer over the second layer that has both solid and line petals. On the back of the second layer you can add more foam squares and layer that on top of the solid daisy shape.
Next, you can layer the 3 leaf layers together with foam tape as well, with the skinny leaves on top of the wider leaves and the solid shape on the bottom. Now you can assemble the whole thing together. Place the orange flower center on top of the white daisy petals. Take that and place it on top of the leaves. This can all be done with foam tape.
Create beautiful layered mandalas with my Flower Bundle! Add to shadow boxes and enjoy!
Next, place the daisy mandala design in the center of the daisy background. I updated my file, so my daisy background might look a little different than yours. You should have 4 equally spaced daisies on all 4 sides.
Now you are all set to add it to a shadow box! I hope you enjoyed this paper craft, you can find more designs on my Etsy Shop!

Any for cricut joy?
Not at the moment, but that sounds like a good idea to make mini layered mandalas for the Cricut Joy!!
For Cricut Joy when adjusted, they end up being pretty small. Is there any way you can make the design so that you can slice the pieces to make a bigger pieced mandala for Cricut Joy?
Right, unfortunately the Cricut joy cutting area is too small for this layered mandala as whole. It can be scaled to fit 8×8, 9×9, 10×10, and 12×12 shadow boxes only.
I can recommend: scaling down the background 3 layers, that should cut fine, and I believe the daisy flower (orange and white layers) will cut on the Joy without being scaling down, cut as is. However, you will have to leave out the 3 green layers, since they won’t fit.
The Daisy is absolutely gorgeous! Thank you👍
Thank you!! I thought so myself 🙂
Thank you for the beautiful Daisy, I am eager to make it.
You’re Welcome! Thanks so much for downloading.
Very nice design! I’m looking forward to adding it to my collection, especially since my dog’s name is Daisy too. She is a chiweenie.
Awe, that is so precious! Thanks so much for downloading!
