Measure Trinket Box
I got my 3 trinket boxes from Dollar Tree, which are 3 inches wide. However, if you find trinket boxes from another source then they may be a different size. Make sure to measure the top surface with a ruler to see how much room you have to work with.
Create names in Design Space
I will be adding my daughter’s names to the top of the box, however you can add any text you like. Another cute idea is to make the look like Sweetheart Candies and add those saying to the top.
In Cricut Design Space, using the Text Tool to type out each name. I used the font, Cricut Sans, font size 45pt. Keep in mind, depending on the length of the name, you will need to size it down to fit into the 3inch heart surface. Once done, you can cut your vinyl on Vinyl+.
Next, remove your vinyl from the mat and cut each name out. Weed off the excess vinyl.
Use transfer tape and a Cricut scraper to remove the lettered vinyl from it’s paper backing. Lay the transfer tape over the top of the heart box. Use the scraper to adhere it down. Then slowly peel back the transfer.
Take the two foam rolls and remove the plastic clip. Place both foam rolls into the trinket box.
Add jewelry for an extra surprise and your all done! I hope you enjoyed this super easy and affordable Valentine’s day gift idea! More Dollar Tree DIY’s are coming your way!
