DIY Football Game Day Shirt

Are you ready for game day this Sunday? I have a cool Super Bowl shirt idea using my Game Day Football Lightening Bolt SVG.  Use your Cricut to create this shirt for the whole family to wear! If you’re not into football and only watch it for the halftime show, check out my Team Halftime SVG.

 

Cricut Game Day Shirt

• Cricut Machine
• Standard grip mat
• Heat press or EasyPress, (may also use a home iron)
• Iron-on Vinyl (HTV)
• Teflon or parchment paper
• Weeding tools
• Shirt or garment
• Football Game Day SVG 

 

 

Design Space Instructions

Once you have my file downloaded, you will need to right-click and extract all and save to the same location. Inside the folder, will be 4 cut files along with my PDF license. For Cricut Design Space you will need the SVG file type. If you are on a Windows PC, the SVG files, might display with an internet icon/html doc.  Upload that file to Design Space and save it to your library.

 

Measure the width of your garment, and resize the SVG file to fit within that space.  You can change the width length by pulling one of the corners, or by entering the size in the width size box. Just make sure the lock icon is locked, this will keep the SVG proportioned.

Next, ungroup the SVG file, and select the white football stitching group and hit attach. You can select each layer to change the color to your liking. After that you care ready to click Make.

 

If you are using iron-on vinyl, make sure to turn on mirror for each mat color, then click continue.  Cut iron-on vinyl on Iron-on+, if you are are using a special HTV, make sure to cut it on a custom setting.

 

Apply Iron-on to garment

Once all you HTV is cut and weeded, you can turn on your heat press or EasyPress.  Check your HTV package for heat temp.

Lay the gold outline layer first, then press for 15 seconds at a time for a total of 3 times.  I like to lay Teflon or parchment paper over my design before pressing, to add a layer of protect.

Repeat for the red game day text, then apply the brown lighten bolt and lastly, the football stitching.
