Looking for a fun easy DIY craft from Dollar Tree? Well, I just came across a new item at Dollar Tree, DIY Disco Tiles! I love to browse their stores to see what new DIY craft ideas I can create. And since they have a ton of fall decor out, I thought how cute would it be to create DIY disco ball pumpkins!
In this tutorial I will go over the basic steps to create a easy DIY disco ball pumpkin. All though there is no video tutorial, I believe this fall craft is easy enough to follow using my tips. However, I do have this cute TikTok video of me making the disco ball pumpkins.

DIY Disco Ball Pumpkins Supplies
To make both mini pumpkins from Dollar Tree you will need 4 sheets. For the mini 3 inch wide pumpkin, you will need one sheet and 2 more rows. For the 4 inch tall pumpkin, you will need 2 sheets and four more rows.
The DIY Disco Tiles aren’t available online, only in stores, so I linked an Amazon option.

Prep Pumpkin Surface
The best way to get a nice looking disco ball pumpkin is to prep your pumpkin’s surface with silver paint. This will help blend-in with the tiles, no orange is showing through the tiles.
First, remove the tags with scissors. Then, I recommend using a metallic spray paint outdoors or in a well ventilated room. However, if you like you can use metallic silver acrylic paint as well. Let it dry completely before using.
How to Cut Disco Tiles
Next, you can prepare the the disco tiles into strips. The DIY disco tiles from Dollar Tree come as a 4×6 inch sheet. I cut them into 4in strips of 2 rows of tile.
The easiest and best way to cut these tiles is to use a X-acto blade. Place the tiles face down and fold over 2 rows at one end. Then use the X-cato knife cut it off.
How to Apply Disco Tiles
To apply the disco tiles to the pumpkin, I do one groove section at a time. Applying it to every other section.
Lay the tile row in the center, starting at the pumpkin trunk down to the bottom of the pumpkin. There may be some of the pumpkin exposed at the bottom on the 4inch tall pumpkin. You can cover that up later or leave as is.
Next, take another 2 row strip and lay it on each side of the rows you laid down. You may have a little space on each side exposed, but you can fill that in later as well.
Once you fill in every other section, repeat the same steps for the empty sections. Lastly, you can go back with one row tile strips and fill in the gaps.
Cut the tiles into singles to place into the remaining gaps at the top and bottom of the pumpkins.
Make sure not to force in tiles into tiny gaps, this can cause the glass to chip and you can be cut by the sharp edges. Use protective gloves.
Cutting the disco tiles into 2 row strips made it fairly easy and less time consuming to make. For the mini 3inch wide pumpkin, you can fill in the gaps with one row strips.
