How To Make Napkin Rings For Thanksgiving | Free Template

How to Make Napkin Rings out of Paper

You might be wondering, how do you make a napkin ring for Thanksgiving? Or you might be browsing for some Thanksgiving table setting ideas, that won’t break the bank.  Well, I have an affordable idea to create your own napkin rings out of paper!  You can make Thanksgiving napkin rings out of paper by using my free SVG files for Cricut or by using my printable PDF. My Thanksgiving bundle includes, a Pumpkin Napkin Ring, a Fall Leaf Napkin Ring and a Thanksgiving Turkey Napkin Ring.

 

You can download both my printable PDF and SVG files for my Thanksgiving Napkin Ring craft at the end of this post! In my video tutorial below, I will show you how to create DIY paper napkin rings with a Cricut and at the end of the video you can see how to the printable PDF files as well!  The PDF printable include basic instructions on the PDF.  Print out the PDF on white paper using your home printer and cut out with scissors.

 

To make paper Thanksgiving napkin rings with a cutting machine, you can use my SVG file.  You can use 65lb colored cardstock to create a colorful Thanksgiving napkin ring. See my basic Cricut instructions below to see how I create my Thanksgiving napkin rings with my Cricut.

 

Thanksgiving Napkin Ring Ideas

Fall Leaf Napkin Ring

Nothing says the fall season, than fall leaves.  I just love how simple and elegant this fall leaf napkin ring looks for Thanksgiving!  With the SVG file you can change the colors to match your Thanksgiving table decor!  I need to make this one with some foil gold cardstock, I know it would look stunning!

 

Pumpkin Napkin Ring

Where are all my pumpkin lovers at? This pumpkin napkin ring will make a cute addition to your Thanksgiving table! The 3 color layers really make it pleasing to the eye!  Create different color pumpkins from white to pink to match your place setting.

 

Turkey Napkin Ring

Gobble Gobble! This one is absolutely my favorite Thanksgiving napkin ring out of the three!  You can’t have Thanksgiving without a little turkey!! I love how the turkey feathers wrap behind the napkin, giving it more depth.

 

How to make Thanksgiving Napkin Rings with Cricut

Napkin Ring Supplies:

• Cricut Machine
• Standard grip or Light grip mat
• Thanksgiving Napkin Ring SVG (bottom of post)
• 65lb cardstock
• Bearly Art Craft Glue
• Cricut Scraper
• Cricut Tweezers
• vinyl and transfer tape(optional)

 

Inside my free Thanksgiving Napkin Ring download, you will find the SVG cut file, upload that file to Cricut Design Space.  Make sure to resize to 9.8 inches in width, if it doesn’t upload the correct size.  Ungroup the SVG to select each napkin ring.  You can delete any rings you aren’t going to use. Next, attach the cut lines to the base of the ring.  Feel free to change any colors to match your Thanksgiving decorations.  You can select all and hit duplicate to make more than one.  Cut on cardstock +.

 

Once you have all the layers cut out, you can begin to assemble each napkin ring with Bearly Art craft glue.

 

For the Thanksgiving turkey napkin ring, make sure to apply the feathers to the back of the napkin ring! This is very important so your feathers will show once you wrap it around the napkin. For the detail of the feather arches, I glued each individual piece by hand, however, I highly recommend to use vinyl for this layer so you can attach them together in DS and place them on the cardstock as one piece with transfer tape.

 

After your Thanksgiving napkin rings are assembled, you can fold your napkins as desired, place the napkin ring face down and place the napkin on top.  Wrap the ring around connecting them at the slits.
