DIY Ghost Earrings Dollar Tree Craft

Hi Crafters, I’m back with another Dollar Tree DIY craft! I have been obsessed with cute ghost this year for Halloween, so I wondered how can I make my own ghost earrings! I found most of these items at Dollar Tree, except for the Hook Earring hardware, which they do have online, but I have yet been able to find them in stores.  However, I usually get mine earring hooks from Amazon, because you can get more bang for your buck, if you plan on making more DIY earrings later on.

I was on a quest looking for something at Dollar Tree, that I can use to make a ghost so everyone can easily create it too, without using a special cutting machine! Luckily, Dollar Tree is stocking their Christmas items already and I found these Wood Shape Bells, that we can turn into little ghost!

 

DIY Ghost Earrings Supplies

• Christmas Wood Shape Bells
• Hook Earrings (Amazon)
• Jump Rings
• Mod Podge
• White Acrylic Paint
• Black Marker
• Foam Brush
• White Glitter Iridescent
• Pliers

 

I just love how adorable these little ghost earrings came out! I added a layer of glitter over my ghost to give it a little sparkle!  However, the Mod Podge and glitter is optional if you don’t want to use it.

 

How to make DIY ghost earrings

Paint the front and back of the wood shape bell with white acrylic paint.  Make sure to paint the sides of the wood shape as well.

 

Once they are done drying, use a black marker with a fine tip to draw on the ghost eyes.

 

Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the surface of the ghost using a foam brush.

 

Next, sprinkle on glitter over the entire ghost surface.  Use a piece of paper underneath to catch the excess glitter and place back into the bottle.  Let it dry completely before applying a top coat to seal the glitter.

 

I let them dry overnight before I add my hardware.  Use pliers to open the jump rings, I linked two together between the ghost and earring hook.

 

And ta-da, you have cute little ghost earrings! A perfect gift for teachers and friends! If you are handy with a paint brush, you can use gray paint to draw on some shading to the bottom of the ghost ruffles. Let me know what you think of this cute DIY Ghost Earring from the Dollar Tree!
